For attendees driving to the conference, there is a conveniently located parking garage directly across the street from the Yorktowne Hotel at 41 E. Market St.. The weekday maximum charge for the parking garage is $22, and weekend parking is free.
The Board Meeting, the Thursday Reception, Paper Sessions and the Friday Banquet will all be held at the hotel.
The Colonial Complex is a major, integral site of the York County History Center. The site represents York’s history during the Revolutionary War, including the period when the Continental Congress met .
Conference Events
Conference events will begin Thursday, November 5. The Board of Directors Meeting will be held in the morning at 9 am at the Meeting Room South in the hotel. The Thursday Walking tour will begin in the morning and focus on Downtown York, including stops at First Presbyterian Church and Churchyard, Appell Center for the Performing Arts, Central Market, and York County History Center. We may also visit the Agricultural and Industrial Museum. While we walk around town, there’s a lot of good architecture to see! The Opening Reception will take place at The Graham Rooftop Lounge of the Yorktowne Hotel.
On Friday, November 6, paper sessions will be held in the Wellspan Ballroom West with a business luncheon from noon to 1:30 PM. An evening reception, banquet, and awards ceremony will be hosted from 7-10 pm in the Pullo Room and Wellspan Ballroom West at the hotel.
On Saturday, November 7, our bus tour field trip will leave from the hotel on a charter bus and head to Ephrata Cloister, a National Historic Landmark representing one of America’s first communal monastic societies founded by German settlers. Lunch is included at the Black Forest Brewery. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Landis Valley Farm and Museum, focused on Pennsylvania German history, heritage, lifeways, and farming.
