Call for Papers
The International Society of Landscape, Place and Material Culture (ISLPMC) will hold its 56th annual conference in Jacksonville, FL, from Thursday, October 2 through Saturday, October 4, 2024.
The 2025 Conference theme is “Diverse Landscapes of Preservation and Change.”
The Treaty Oak is an octopus-like Southern live oak in Jacksonville. It is estimated to be 250 years old and can be found in Treaty Oak Park in the Southbank area of Downtown Jacksonville.
The conference committee is currently soliciting proposals for papers, special sessions, and panel discussions relating to the conference theme. However, papers on all topics of interest to the Society relating to the history, cultural anthropology, architectural history, archaeology, and cultural and historical geography of material culture, cultural landscapes, and place are welcome. Note: Only papers submitted by ISLPMC members and registered participants will be accepted for the program.
Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes. All presentation equipment will be provided. Abstracts must be no longer than 300 words. Please include the title, name of author(s), affiliation(s), and email and phone contact information. Electronic submission in Microsoft Word is preferred. The paper session will be on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Abstract submissions are due by August 25, 2025. Abstracts may be submitted electronically to:
